Fly Like an Eagle is the ninth studio album by American rock group Steve Miller Band. The album was a success, spawning three singles: the title track, "Take the Money and Run" and "Rock'n Me", and eventually receiving quadruple platinum certification from the RIAA.

Fly Like an Eagle may refer to: Fly Like an Eagle (album), 1976, by Steve Miller Band. Fly Like an Eagle" (song), by Steve Miller Band. Fly Like an Eagle", a song from The Marshall Tucker Band's 1977 album, Carolina Dreams. Fly Like an Eagle", a song from Ten's 1997 album The Robe. Fly Like an Eagle", a song from Respect (Shaquille O'Neal album), 1998. Fly Like an Eagle", a 1994 episode of Takin' Over the Asylum. Fly Like an Eagle", a 2015 episode of Lost in Transmission.

Steve Miller had started to essay his classic sound with The Joker, but 1976's Fly Like an Eagle is where he took flight, creating his definitive slice of space blues. The key is focus, even on an album as stylishly, self-consciously trippy as this, since the focus brings about his strongest set of songs (both originals and covers), plus a detailed atmospheric production where everything fits.

About Fly Like an Eagle. Written by Steve Miller, and Steve McCarty. It has been used for themes for so many things, from football teams to the United States Postal Service. It is a very special song that is more serious and relevant today than even back then. Flying like an eagle; to be carried in spirit, is a direct reference to the Old Testament prophet Isaiah. In Isaiah 40:31 King James Version (KJV) we read But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Whereas Mr. Miller’s Verse.

It's on a different album than "Space Intro/Fly Like an Eagle come on everyone knows it is just flat out great. who agrees? Christian from Charlotte, NcThis song isn't about doing drugs or tripping out. Its about helping people and reaching higher heights by feeling good about benefiting others. You have to be more open minded about things, not everything is about drugs. Jennifer Harris from Grand Blanc, MiI like both Steve Miller band and Seal's,but I like Seal's better. Ptheoc from Tulsa, OkSteve Miller had been rockin hard since the sixties. He was now realizing that the important things of life are not just that you are rich and famous.

Listen to Fly Like An Eagle right now. While 1968’s Sailor is considered to be their breakthrough album, the band came close many times to mainstream success, both with 1969’s Brave New World, which just missed the Top 20 and 1973’s platinum selling The Joker. It took the band eight years and nine albums before they finally hit the big leagues and reached a whole new level of fame. Steve Miller had experimented with different genres throughout his career, but it wasn’t until he drew upon all of his past influences that his sound would coalesce into something greater. Even though the Steve Miller Blues Band had dropped the Blues from their moniker, it didn’t mean they fully left it behind. Some of the songs that skate close to the band’s blues roots are ‘Sweet Maree’, thanks to harmonica stylings of Muddy Waters player James Cotton and ‘Mercury’ which traverses its way around the blues scale.

Those with surround sound systems will enjoy a stunning . mix highlighting the space-rock tendencies that so effectively offset Fly Like an Eagle's crunchier singles. This timeless album from the 70's is a masterpiece. The Hammond organ on Fly Like An Eagle is a virtuous performance. I really think it captures what it would sound like if a Hammond Organ could fly like an eagle.
