Originally called the Steve Miller Blues Band, the group first made its mark as a psychedelic blues rock band in San Francisco.
Released in 1983 Steve Miller Band: Live! is culled from a concert, or several concerts, that SMB gave on the supporting tour for Abracadabra. They run through all the big hits - the most obscure this gets is "Mercury Blues," from their most popular album, Fly Like an Eagle - in performances that pretty much stick to the record. There's not much here that's different and, accordingly, there are zero revelations, but this is pleasant and enjoyable.

The Steve Miller Band is an American rock band formed in 1966 in San Francisco, California. The band is led by Steve Miller on guitar and lead vocals. The group is best known for a string of (mainly) mid- to late-1970s hit singles that are staples of classic rock radio, as well as several earlier psychedelic rock albums. Miller left his first band to move to San Francisco and form the Steve Miller Blues Band.
