Fruupp - Future Legends album flac

Future Legends is the debut studio album by North Irish progressive rock band Fruupp. Recorded in July 1973 and produced by Denis Taylor, it was released on 5 October in the United Kingdom on the Dawn Records label, a subsidiary of Pye Records for underground and progressive rock music. To promote the album, the band undertook a two-month tour which finished on 29 November with a concert in The Whitla Hall, Belfast where they played with the Ulster Youth Orchestra.

The album starts with Future Legends, a very classical and romantic intro with strings. Fruupp plays some Peter Gabriel era Genesis inspired symphonic prog here on their debut album Future Legends. It�s very well composed and performed. All songs are good but nothing really stands out. The sound quality isn�t really good, but for the time it�s ok. The album starts with the classical intro Future Legends and then continues with Decision which is a good symphonic prog rock song. All songs have quiet and more rocking passages and the singing ranges from melodic to more rock sounding moments. There are even a jazzy vers in the song Decision.

This may be due to the contemplative nature of Stephen Houston's keyboard and string parts. The erstwhile title tracks that bookend the album are instrumental throwaways, but several of the intervening numbers are impressive in their range and instrumental prowess. Olde Tyme Future" is an ultimately hopeful elegy for an Irish homeland that seems unable to escape its own bitter past, alternating stark vocals and organ-driven instrumentals.

A most underated progressive band from the 70's that easily equaled Yes or Genesis. you'll find this album contains some very fine musicianship and outstanding lyrics. This band hailed from the north of Ireland and were all classicly trained. It was my pleasure to have seen them perform live on many occasions and from a pure talent point of view they were better musicians than either Yes or Genesis. One of the best unknown bands ever.
