Saw V: Original Motion Picture Score is the film score to Saw V. The released score has 61 tracks, nine of which are alternates. Out of the 61 released tracks, 49 were featured in the film. Like the Saw IV score, it was not licensed to a recording company and not commercially distributed. All composed by Charlie Clouser. A number of tracks from the previous films were re-used, some replacing unreleased original tracks. The majority of the tracks were from Saw III and Saw IV.
Biography by Bruce Eder. A pianist, arranger, composer, and conductor who made an indelible mark on Broadway and cinema.
Composer Marvin Hamlisch is probably best known for the music he wrote in the ‘70s for two films, The Sting and The Way We Were, and the Broadway musical A Chorus Line. Even though the film is based on real-life events of the ‘90s, director Steven Soderbergh imbues it with a ‘70s vibe, a tone enhanced by Hamlisch’s music. The composer is masterful at writing both lush pieces that brim with sentiment, and light, perky tunes.
1974: Album of Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or a Television Special – The Way We Were. Tony Awards: 1976: Best Musical Score – A Chorus Line. Legend has won the most Grammy awards, 10, of any EGOT recipient, and is the second recipient, after Marvin Hamlisch, who is primarily a musician. In addition to being the first black man to achieve EGOT status, Legend is the first person to receive the four awards in four consecutive years. Legend, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Tim Rice all simultaneously became EGOT recipients on September 9, 2018, when they were collectively awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for Jesus Christ Superstar Live.
Ragtime itself was a piano based music that was arranged for orchestras, but most sheet music and early recordings are primarily for a solo piano.
