7. Don't Let It Fall Through. 8. Back to the Earth Again. 10. The Awakening Within. Given that Gene Clark died in 1991 it is amazing that given all the new material previously released on recordings since his death there is still enough "new " unreleased songs to fill a 2CD package. These songs are consistent with high quality of Gene Clark's songwriting, some from the mid 60s, Some from the early 70's and some Firebyrd era material in finished form with Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen among the band members. If you have never listened to Gene Clark before, this not the place to start although you will still find the album interesting

Gene Clark's unreleased "Back Street Mirror" is tenderly rendered, as is Bill Martin's "The Soldier Wind", while "Talkin'LA" (co-written with Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman) spins a medieval raga like "Eight Miles High", complete with buzzing saxophone, to improbably stirring effect. Gene Clark - Roadmaster In The Studio (Alternate Mixes). By 1972, singer/songwriter Gene Clark had settled into a new life in Mendocino far from the intrusive media glare and fan adulation that still surrounded someone of his stature as a former member of the Byrds. However, he still owed A&M Records one more album.

Harold Eugene "Gene" Clark (November 17, 1944 – May 24, 1991) was an American singer-songwriter and founding member of the folk rock band the Byrds. He was the Byrds' principal songwriter between 1964 and early 1966, writing most of the band's best-known originals from this period, including "I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better", "She Don't Care About Time", and "Set You Free This Time"

Gene Clark was one of the most influential musical pioneers of the rock era. A pivotal figure at the births of rock. Back Street Mirror 03:22 07. Don’t Let It Fall Through 03:02 08. Got mine shortly after RSD 2018. Music is great, pressing sounds fine. Sorry to hear some people are unhappy, but absolutely no problems with my copy.
Geny
I had no issues with my copy. I think these across-the-board 'don't buy this' reviews are doing none of us any good. My guess is new people listening to and buying records, often on crappy and improperly set-up gear has gotten to be a plague on this community. So many reviews like this with no backup. The record I received was flat, played perfectly on quality gear, and I've been a finicky record listener for 25+ years.
Phobism
My apologies if I sounded snarky, that doesn't help either. But "This pressing is absolute trash. Skips, jumps and slides and sounds like it was transferred from MP3s. Side A is almost UN-listenable due to these issues. Do not buy." doesn't either. Again, I have zero of the issues you describe, and the sound is very far removed from a cheap mp3 transfer. I suppose that's a matter of opinion. But maybe wording some things specific to your copy, and your opinion of sound. But making a blatant, don't buy, declaration seems harsh. I am finicky, I am a huge Gene Clark fan, and I was very happy with sound and quality of the LP. Labels and jacket are ugly IMO, but there was simply no sound issues, and for me, excellent sound.

Whatever you say, man. I have a collection of over 1,500 records and listened to this copy on both my home set up and the even higher quality set up I have at work (a record label that has been around for 30 years). Sorry I haven't been collecting as long as you, but just because you're older than me doesn't mean you are the gatekeeper of vinyl. My copy was not a good pressing, I dunno what else to tell you.

Bought this directly from Sierra last week (it was only a couple of days before their webstore shut down) and now I understand why they we're shuttering...This pressing is absolute trash. Skips, jumps and slides and sounds like it was transferred from MP3s. Side A is almost UN-listenable due to these issues. Do not buy.

Mine was unfortunately a poor pressing. Pity as the music is great and other Sierra las have been fine.
Forcestalker
Mine plays clean, and quiet all the way through. In fact, my copy sounds excellent, natural, zero background noise issues.
