It was originally intended to be titled Apart, with each of the two core members, Sascha Konietzko and En Esch, recording half an album and combining their work. The album ended up using only Konietzko's half, along with additional songs. It went out of print in the late 1990s and was re-released in 2006.
This four-song set includes the title track and a slightly remixed "Sex on the Flag," as well as two remixes of "Split. The underlying keyboard track of "Split-Apart" is almost peppy, and the usual distorted vocals aren't as heavy in the mix. "Split " is exactly what you'd imagine - KMFDM gone disco, it features a four-on-the-floor house beat and big thumping bass to go with the diva backing vocals.
