México en la Piel (Mexico in the Flesh) is the sixteenth studio album by Mexican singer Luis Miguel. Released on 9 November 2004 by Warner Music Latina, it is Miguel's first mariachi album. The record contains thirteen mariachi covers, accompanied by the Vargas de Tecalitlán folk ensemble. Armando Manzanero was its musical director, and Miguel its producer. The album was recorded at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood, California in July 2004

México En La Piel is the sixteenth album recorded by Mexican Superstar Luis Miguel released on November 9, 2004. It's his first album to be featured in mariachi. The album was re-released twice. One featured bonus tracks and was simply titled México En La Piel: Bonus Tracks. Both were released on September 6, 2005. This album won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2005 and also the Grammy Award for Best ican Album. The Mexico En La Piel Tour started on 2005 and finished in 2007 Sales and certifications.

Miguel, in fact, is joined by none other than Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, a Mexican institution that goes all the way back to the late 1890s.

The lead single off of the self titled album Arca, it’s a soft, vulnerable and enchanting approach to a beautiful topic.

México en la piel" is a 1990 song by the Mexican singer-songwriter José Manuel Fernández Espinosa (born 1958). It was awarded a prize at the 1990 Festival México Lindo y Querido. The song was covered by María de Lourdes, and used in many live shows, such as the theme for parque Xcaret (Quintana Roo, México) Night Show in 2002. In 2004 the song achieved international recognition as title track for Luis Miguel's collection of Mexican standards México en la piel.
