Sophie Huriaux (born July 18, 1969 in Thionville), better known by her stage name La Grande Sophie, is a French singer-songwriter who got her start in the mid-1990s in the Paris alternative scene. Sophie lived the whole of her youth in Port-de-Bouc near Marseilles, where her parents moved to when she was quite young. She had her first musical idea while watching Jacques Demy's film Peau d'Ane on television.

La Grand Sophie, born July 18, 1969 in Thionville, is a French singer songwriter who started her career in the mid 90's alternative Parisian music scene. She grew up in Port-de-Bouc near Marseilles. She created "kitchen music," which she describes as "a mid 90's movement that sees little difference between musical activity and other daily tasks.
In October of 2003, La Grande Sophie released album number three, Et Si C'était Moi, and devoted much of the next couple of years to touring. In 2005 she released her next album, the '70s La Suite. Three years would then pass before La Grande Sophie returned with Des Vagues et des Ruisseaux, which featured the single "Quelqu'un D'autre" and pushed the singer closer towards the French Top 10, a feat which she managed with 2012's La Place du Fantôme
