The Flying Burrito Brothers are an American country rock band, best known for their influential 1969 debut album, The Gilded Palace of Sin. Although the group is perhaps best known for its connection to band founders Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman (formerly of the Byrds), the group underwent many personnel changes and has existed in various incarnations. A lineup with no original members (and derived from the 2000s-era Burrito Deluxe) currently performs as The Burrito Brothers.

The Flying Burrito Brothers helped forge the connection between rock and country, and with their 1969 debut album, The Gilded Palace of Sin, they virtually invented the blueprint for country-rock. Though the band's glory days were brief, they left behind a small body of work that proved vastly influential both in rock and country. The Flying Burrito Brothers reunited later in the '70s, albeit without their founding members Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman, and continued performing and recording in a variety of incarnations into the '80s

Whilst 'The Flying Burrito Bros' was recorded after Gram Parsons left for a solo career, the wonderfully versatile but low profile Chris Hillman took over leadership duties and contributed some great songs and sweet vocals. Rick Roberts came in on guitar/vocals and on this set contributed his signature 'Colorado' - a lovely rural song with multilayered harmonies that fits this new FBB incarnation like a glove. After years of trying to replace my stolen LP copy of the 'Last of' without a mortgage, I did obtain from ei. om a super vinyl.
