Chinese Wall is the third solo album by Philip Bailey, released on the Columbia Records label in October 1984. Chinese Wall has been certified gold in the US on March 11, 1985.

This album was produced by PHIL COLLINS and bears his production aesthetic, and most prominently, his DRUMMING. While a few of the songs might not be great, their execution is flawless, and the musicianship throughout is of the highest caliber. The album is also sonically great, thanks to George Massenberg. Bailey's voice is great, and we get to hear Phil Collins play straight ahead r & b on "Show you the way" & "For every heart".

The advantage to that, of course, is the exposure it affords, and after the merely modest success of his debut solo album, Continuation, Bailey needed the reflected glory. On the other band, it’s hard to shine yourself in such a glare, and although Bailey’s name was on the gold-selling hit single Easy Lover, a duet with Collins that helped the album take off, it’s Collins’ singing and drumming that one remembers.
