You Can Dance is the first remix album by American singer-songwriter Madonna. It was released on November 17, 1987, by Sire Records. The album contains remixes of tracks from her first three studio albums Madonna, Like a Virgin and True Blue and a new track, "Spotlight".

Released in 1987 as a stopgap, the remix album You Can Dance reworks material from Madonna's first three albums. Actually, it keeps the spotlight on her first record, adding non-LP singles like "Into the Groove" for good measure, along with a bonus track of "Where's the Party. Since it's a dance album, it doesn't matter that "Holiday" and "Into the Groove" are here twice, once each in dub versions, because the essential grooves and music are quite different in each incarnation
I like the fact that all the songs, with the exception of Physical Attraction, are uptempo. And they have distinct melodies and strong hooks. The wonderful rarity "Physical Attraction" which is so hard to find on other LPs by this "virgin", is an absolute classic. It's often-touted "corny" rhymes are to me like a fairy tale being recounted. I am in the same awe and wonder at these masterpieces of dance as if I were a child. Madonna is just plain beautiful. And to top it all, she's sexy too.
