At first glance, Greatest Songs: Cosmic Dancer would seem an excellent introduction to the world of Marc Bolan and T. Rex as evidenced by the inclusion of key tracks like "20th Century Boy," "Get It On," "Telegram Sam," and "Children of the Revolution. What it doesn't tell you on the initial packaging is that almost all of the tracks are alternate or live takes. Fans looking for a solid collection from T. Rex would be much better off with 2007's Greatest Hits from Universal or Hip-O's 20th Century Boy: The Ultimate Collection.
