Canterbury Tales: The Best of Caravan is the 1976 compilation album released by Caravan. It was expanded, repackaged and released in 1994. Original release (1976) Notes: "For Richard" is the shortened name of "Can't Be Long Now/Francoise/For Richard/Warlock". The track that appears on the 1976 release of Canterbury Tales was recorded at Fairfield Halls in 1974.
Caravan-canterbury tales/best OF-2 x lp set-uk issue on decca RECORDS-1976-VGC. This double (record) album used to be the best possible introduction to classic 1970s Caravan. It's through this set that I got to know the band, and I can honestly say all my favourite pieces are included. Since we are talking about LPs, there are only 90 minutes of music here (less material than on that double CD released in the 1990s, also entitled CANTERBURY TALES) but every single song is superb.
This title was initially issued in 1976 as a two-LP compilation of the Canterbury progressive rockers' output between the years 1970 and 1974. Additionally, as a "value for money" enticement for those who had already purchased Caravan's back catalog, the set also included a previously vaulted live version of "For Richard" taken from the band's . tour warmup gig on September 1, 1974, at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, . Fast-forward nearly two decades to the advent and subsequent proliferation of. the extended and sonically superior compact disc medium.

Canterbury Tales is a musical originally presented at the Oxford Playhouse in 1964, conceived and directed by Martin Starkie and written by Nevill Coghill and Martin Starkie. It was expanded into a full length musical and presented at the Phoenix Theatre, London on 21 March 1968 and ran for 2,080 performances. The Best Of is the first greatest hits album by American recording artist CeCe Peniston, released on March 2, 1998 by A&M Records in the overseas. It contains thirteen versions of her hit singles from 1991 to 1997. As the compilation was the singer's closing release under her contract with A&M, it didn't feature any new material.
