June 1, 1974 is a live album of songs performed at the Rainbow Theatre in London on the titular date. The album is officially attributed to Kevin Ayers, John Cale, Brian Eno and Nico, although other well-known musicians, including Mike Oldfield, Robert Wyatt and Ollie Halsall, also contributed to the concert. The cover photograph was taken by Mick Rock in the foyer of the Rainbow Theatre shortly before the concert began

NICO is a dazzling hour-plus set of music composed by John Cale for choreography by Ed Wubbe. The piece celebrates the life and work of singer, musician, and poet Nico. She was a friend of Cale's and a key part of the Velvet Underground. Six-member string ensemble Ice Nine, an electric guitarist, a keyboard player, and a percussionist perform the music. The album was recorded live during a performance in the Netherlands, and is richly rendered, with a sonic breadth one might associate with a live classical music recording.

Velvet Underground founding member John Cale is set to perform the band's iconic "The Velvet Underground & Nico" album, live, on April 3 at Philharmonie de Paris. Cale announced a stellar lineup of guests to join him on stage, including Animal Collective (whose new album he contributed to), Pete Doherty and Carl Barât of The Libertines, and Mark Lanegan.
