This wonderful album contains the complete recorded legacy of the Shilos, nine songs cut as a demo tape at Bob Jones University in March of 1965, and one home recording of Gram Parsons improvising a potential theme song for a park at Cypress Gardens, Florida.

Disc One includes Gram Parsons-The Early Years Volume 1, featuring folk recordings (1963-65) of Gram and the Shilos originally released in 1979. The disc also featured "Volume Two" which were previously unreleased recordings of early performances focusing on Gram's solo efforts, Disc Two is the Big Mouth Blues: A Conversation with Gram Parsons interview disc.

Parsons joined The Byrds in early 1968 and played a pivotal role in the making of the seminal Sweetheart of the Rodeo album. After leaving the group in late 1968, Parsons and fellow Byrd Chris Hillman formed The Flying Burrito Brothers in 1969, releasing their debut, The Gilded Palace of Sin, the same year. The album was well received but failed commercially.
