For those familiar with Draconian, think of "A Rose for the Apocalypse" as a more melodic continuation of what was started with 2008's "Turning Seasons Within. This may disappoint some fans who preferred the style of the first two albums "Where Lovers Mourn" and "Arcane Rain Fell," but any true fan can appreciate the evolution of Draconian. But as all good things do, "A Rose to the Apocalypse" does end. The regular print of the album does so with the haunting "The Death of Hours," whereas the limited print digi version concludes with the bonus track "Wall of Sighs. Both tracks work as closers, though "The Death of Hours" was clearly meant to be the true ending. Where "Wall of Sighs" abruptly ends, "The Death of Hours" instead eases the listener out of the experience with a roughly 30 second fade out.
