Curved Air - Second Album album flac

Second Album was the second album released by British rock group Curved Air. It reached No. 11 in the UK Charts on 9 October 1971, and "Back Street Luv" became a UK No. 4 chart hit on 7 August 1971. Both variations of the album cover include a rainbow, a reference to the album A Rainbow in Curved Air, from which the band took their name.

Time has not treated Curved Air's second album kindly. Of course it was always dominated by "Back Street Luv," which isn't simply one of the band's own finest moments, it's also one of the crucial singles of the early 1970s. But across this straightforward reissue of the accompanying album, the savage innovation which was the hallmark of their Air Conditioning debut, and the brilliant eclecticism which would characterize their next set, is nowhere in sight. Which is weird, because it always used to sound quite good.

Listening to Second Album originally, when I first heard it back in the fall of 2006, it sounded like it was very quiet with some low quality moments, similar to when I initially heard Air Conditioning during the same period. Listening now to the remastered sound by Francis Monkman, this version of Second Album has much better quality sound. Thanks to the reissue, the whole album is like a gigantic flower ready to burst open, finally ready to see the sunlight  . Disc 2 – DVD: Curved Air on the Air Television Recordings 1971. I love Curved Air. This album has some great music and probably their biggest commercial hit - Back Street Luv. BUT BEWARE. This is a bad pressing from Rhino. Good luck finding a decent copy. I heard this music well after the fact but well before today. I was 19 in 1982 when i discovered this, and it is the only Curved Air album i've heard. It is so rooted in the period that it may be hit or miss for younger folks, but on the other hand it is such strong music it may still crash through 35 years of music evolution to some degree as it did strongly for me after 10 years of music evolution by the time i heard it the first time.
