Jordin Sparks is the self-titled debut album by American pop and R&B singer Jordin Sparks, released on November 20, 2007 in the United States and November 27, 2007 in Canada and Christian music stores. In United States it debuted at number ten on the Billboard 200 with sales of 119,000 copies in the first week. It has produced four top twenty singles, with "Tattoo" reaching number 8 eight on the US Billboard Hot 100, and "No Air" reaching number three.
Jordin Sparks Thomas (née Sparks; born December 22, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She rose to fame in 2007 after winning the sixth season of American Idol at age 17, becoming the youngest winner in the series' history. Her self-titled debut studio album, released later that year, was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and has sold over two million copies worldwide
American singer Jordin Sparks has released three studio albums, two extended plays, one mixtape, twenty-three singles (including two as a featured artist, nine promotional singles and one charity single), fourteen soundtrack appearances and seventeen music videos. At the age of seventeen, Sparks won the sixth season of American Idol in 2007 and earned a record deal with Jive Records
Sparks describes the album as "pretty music with a bump to it" being largely influenced by the R&B music of the 1990s. On the album, Sparks co-wrote seven out of the fourteen tracks. Sparks worked with Salaam Remi, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, The Underdogs, Jonas Jeberg and Dem Jointz on the album.
