The album Cry Baby is not your typical album. This album features songs that have themes and metaphors woven in between the electronic beats. Unlike many artists today, Melanie is passionate about the words she sings, giving them actual meaning. Cry Baby, starts out with a mother giving birth aided by doctors in bunny masks. After the baby is delivered and starts crying, as babies usually do, the mother is clearly aggravated and names her newborn 'cry baby'. I find this song to be a calm love song mixed with Melanie telling a story in her own unique way. It's almost like a twisted love story when she tells him she loves what he does, and then uses words like 'fucking dumb' for the 'stupid shit she does'. This use of vulgarity makes the songs feel much more realistic and honest than artists that portray love as perfect.
