This disc, volume two of Deutsche Grammophon's Segovia collection, presents an interesting variety of music mostly from the Hispanic tradition, with the exception of the Italian-born Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and it was originally recorded in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. As the liner notes explain, Torroba, inspired by Segovia's enthusiasm for the guitar, started composing for him in the 1920s

Four discs offer almost five hours of music, over one hour of which appears for the first time on CD, including the Cassado arrangement of the Boccherini cello concerto.
