Chronologically speaking, 'Electric Ladyland' is now twice as close to the end of World War II as it is to the present day, yet contemporary musicians seem to reference key elements of the famous Hendrix formula. Perhaps even more so than its famous contemporaries The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who. Though many critics at the time considered the album to be too heavy, with the benefit of 50 years of hindsight, it's now a fairly well-accepted truth that the dense overdriven nature of the album was a touchstone moment in blues and rock 'n' roll's necessary.

Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At the Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68, part of Experience Hendrix’s Dagger Records official bootleg series, is another exclusive component. The never before released recording captures the band and the mounting excitement that took place just weeks before the release of Electric Ladyland. The Beginning: The Making Of Electric Ladyland which documents the creation of the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s groundbreaking double album. Includes interviews with Chas Chandler, Mitch Mitchell, and Noel Redding as well as fascinating in-the-studio footage introduced by Eddie Kramer.

Jimi Hendrix's third and final album with the original Experience found him taking his funk and psychedelic sounds to the absolute limit. The result was not only one of the best rock albums of the era, but also Hendrix's original musical vision at its absolute apex. When revisionist rock critics refer to him as the maker of a generation's mightiest dope music, this is the album they're referring to. But Electric Ladyland is so much more than just background music for chemical intake. EAC extraction logfile from 5. May 2013, 21:51. JIMI HENDRIX, Electric Ladyland CD1.
