Rubinstein's performances of the Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11, with Stanislaw Skrowaczewski and the New Symphony Orchestra of London, and the Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21, with Alfred Wallenstein and the Symphony of the Air are perfectly delightful, if old-fashioned renditions, with a feeling of Romantic ardor and s. .

Artur Rubinstein was a wonderful pianist and was of Polish nationality. This was probably why he was such an absolutely marvellous interpreter of the music of Chopin's music;with the exception of the waltzes,which no one played better than Dinu Lapati except, perhaps' Chopin himself. The collection is worth every penny and although I have the complete works of Chopin on LP and CD's this collection is marvellous.

This one filled the bill. From listening to it, Artur Rubinstein is indeed the master of Chopin. When I first started playing the opening track, of Piano Concerto No. 1, the sound quality of the orchestral introduction at first struck me as dated. However, once the piano started in, this impression was dissolved.
