Filigree & Shadow is the second album released by 4AD collective This Mortal Coil, an umbrella title for a loose grouping of guest musicians and vocalists brought together by label boss Ivo Watts-Russell. The supergroup consists primarily of artists attached to the 4AD label, of which Watts-Russell was the co-founder and (at the time) the owner and director

The sophomore album from 4AD label supergroup This Mortal Coil is a collection of shoegaze folk and dramatic dream pop that feels like a movie soundtrack. Half of the album is instrumental, allowing the producers to flex their mastery of swirly, psychedelic ambience and neo-gothic drama. Surprising vocal features seamlessly weave into the tapestry, including a spunky take on Talking Heads' "Drugs" from club diva Alison Limerick, and Dominic Appleton's sparse, haunting reading of "The Jeweller," penned by ‘60s folk surrealists Pearls Before Swine

Come Here My Love, Drugs. only publishes for promotional use and/or for press use images, as delivered and/or authorized by record labels, press offices, promotional agencies; only resorts to degraded images as part of its information feed.

The double album is nearly half instrumentals (all of them given the traditional 4AD treatment of layers of echo, reverb, and phasing), most of which are pleasant enough but not particularly memorable.
