Batcat is the ninth EP by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai. It was released on 8 September 2008 through Wall of Sound, three weeks prior to Mogwai's sixth studio album, The Hawk Is Howling, which also features the track "Batcat" (this EP version differs slightly, most notably the introduction of the drums). Mogwai worked in coordination with psychedelic singer Roky Erickson on the song Devil Rides, which was the only song on the Batcat EP to include vocals. All tracks written by Mogwai, except where noted.

Batcat' is the 9th EP by Mogwai, released just before the 'Hawk is Howling' album in September of 2008. It contains 3 songs 2 of which are original to this recording and the title track which is just slightly different than the version on the EP. 'Batcat', the song, is a heavy mid-tempo instrumental revolving around a guitar riff

The Hawk Is Howling is the sixth studio album by the Scottish post-rock band Mogwai, released on 22 September 2008 by Wall of Sound, Play It Again Sam and Matador in the UK, Europe, and the USA, respectively. It was released in Australia by Spunk Records on 27 September 2008. It is their first album of exclusively instrumental songs, since their earlier albums have all had vocals (singing or spoken word) on some tracks. The album peaked at number 35 in the UK Album Charts and 97 on the Billboard 200.

The two non-album tunes are standouts, with Stupid Prick Gets Chased By the Police and Loses His Slut Girlfriend showcasing the group’s more melodic, keyboard-driven work, and the chiming Devil Rides featuring the uniquely flat vocals of psychedelic icon Roky Erickson. However, the real draw of BATCAT is the title track, a searing and thrillingly ominous number that finds Mogwai channeling its inner Black Sabbath with astounding-and extremely metallic-results.

I love how Mogwai can go from delicate, quiet pieces of music to almost metal headbanging, ear bleeding epics on one album! The Dobryy Deerstalker - 8 years ago. boy177 yes but ASIWYA aren't exactly similair either. they all have unique qualities and they are all post rock.
