The album peaked at No. 106 on the Billboard albums chart. The LP was originally issued as number AL8-8262 in the Arista Catalog. In some non-US territories, including the UK and Australia, the album was released under the title Without Your Love.

She released her most successful album of the 80's, Friends, which featured a massive hit That's What Friends Are For along with the other successful songs like Whisper In the Dark and Stronger Than Before. Dionne Warwick's first album for Warner Bros. in 1971 didn't seem to change much. She was still working with Burt Bacharach and Hal David and still cranking out sophisticated ballads with the trademark orchestrated Bacharach sound. The only thing missing on Dionne is some kind of chart action. If We Only Have Love" reached only number 84 on the single charts, the album itself didn't rise above the mid-'50s. They missed out on half of a really good record.
