Double Negative may refer to: Double Negative (artwork), 1969 artwork on the Mormon Mesa in Nevada. Double Negative (band), hardcore punk band based in North Carolina. Double Negative (VFX), former name of DNEG, a London-based visual effects facility. Double Negative", a single release from British art rock band Grammatics. Double Negative, 2004 album by The Muffins. Double Negative: A Vicky Bauer Mystery, a 1988 book by Leona Gom. Deadly Companion, 1980 film also known as Double Negative.

While maybe not the best Muffins album, Double Negative (this makes a Positive) is certainly an album to own if you are more than a casual fan of the band, even if not groundbreaking or even innovative. Double Negative" is the playful title for The Muffins' second release after their early 90s reunion. The genius remains the same and so does the iron will to deliver refreshing challenges in the area of progressive rock; the technical mediums are different in the sense that they are enhanced, and so, the band's taste for impressive textures and refined instrumental interplaying can be better conveyed to the listeners' ears than in earlier albums.

The Muffins: Double Negative by John Kelman, published on October 18, 2004. Double Negative lays waste to claims that progressive rock is inherently anachronistic. With a wealth of ideas executed with a large palette the Muffins show that it is not only alive, but moving forward. Visit the Muffins on the web. Based on the evidence presented in Bandwidth, the Muffins' 2002 reunion CD (and their first recording in 20 years), the group chose to define itself as a competent, professional jazz/prog rock quartet featuring the saxes of bandmembers Tom Scott and Dave Newhouse, with rhythmic support from Billy Swann on bass and Paul Sears on drums.
