Live from Madison Square Garden is a 2 CD/2 DVD live album by Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood which was released on 19 May 2009 by Duck, Reprise Records. The album is made up of recordings from Clapton and Winwood's performances at Madison Square Garden in February 2008. It is Eric Clapton's ninth live album and Steve Winwood's first live album as a solo artist.
Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood: Live from Madison Square Garden. History rocked and rock made history during a sold-out three-gig stand at Madison Square Garden in late February 2008 when icons Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood performed a concert together for the first time since their all-too-brief days in the legendary Blind Faith in 1969. Whether they will ever team again is unknown. But with Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood Live From Madison Square Garden, fans everywhere are able to experience the sound and the glory of a performance on that famous stage by two of rock's greatest artists.
Clapton and Winwood did three concerts together at Madison Square Garden in February 2008 and the results were fruitful enough to spawn this double-disc album - along with its accompanying DVD set - and a moderately scaled 2009 tour. Live from Madison Square Garden culls 21 highlights from those three nights and spreads them over two discs, sequencing the songs so Traffic numbers alternate with selections from Blind Faith, Derek & the Dominos, blues standards, a handful of Clapton's hits, and a heavy dose of Hendrix, who has no less than three songs here.

Album · 2009 · 21 Songs. Clapton and Winwood arrived at the Garden in 2009 like the last of a vanishing breed, their funky blues scratching an itch for anyone who pines for the era when soul and rock were blood brothers. Winwood’s scorching tenor voice skips around Clapton’s rueful rasp, adding supportive harmonies ( Forever Man ) and pleading leads ( Georgia On My Mind ). Meanwhile, Clapton’s probing guitar slices and dances across Can’t Find My Way Home, acting as an emotional weathervane for the storm clouds overhead ( Little Wing ). Live from Madison Square Garden Eric Clapton.
Directed by Martyn Atkins. With Eric Clapton, Chris Stainton, Ian Thomas, Willie Weeks. Clapton and Winwood played together in Blind Faith. The most of the songs of their first and only album have been played this concert(s).
