Eight Miles High was the first album released under the name Golden Earring, as the band was formerly known as the Golden Earrings. They recorded the album in the style of the late '60s psychedelic rock in only 5 days at the Olympic Studio in London. Including the full 19 minutes version of "Eight Miles High" (The Byrds).

Throughout the years Golden Earring released no less than 26 studio albums. Next to that, dozens of songs were released but not on official albums (the so called non-album tracks), including classics like 'That Day', 'Sound Of The Screaming Day', 'Another 45 Miles', 'Holy Holy Life' and hard to find songs, like 'So You Want To Be A Rock'n'Roll Star', '. Woman' and 'You Gun My Love'. 1. Eight Miles High (1969). Disc: 6. Golden Earring (1970). Disc: 7. Seven Tears (1971). This represents the most comprehensive Golden Earring collection to date, and although it is not a "lavish" set, it really is all about the music, and in this box you get every studio album released by the band in their native Holland.
