Purchasing a reel to reel copy of a Vanilla Fudge concept album from some policemen at a yard sale set off this recording delirium, I did my own version of the entire album and utilized some very strange recordings that were floating around at the time.

The Beat Goes On is an album by American jazz flautist Herbie Mann released on the Atlantic label in 1967. The album features tracks from seven separate sessions recorded in 1964, 1966 and 1967. The Beat Goes On (Atco Records 33-237/mono, SD 33-237/stereo) is the second album by the American psychedelic rock band Vanilla Fudge, released in early 1968. The album doesn't contain any real "songs", but rather a sound collage featuring many different elements: the voices of world leaders past and present, the band reciting pre-written mantras and reflections, and excerpts of songs (done "Vanilla Fudge style") by The Beatles and Sonny Bono.

Eugene Chadbourne (4 January 1951 in Mount Vernon, NY) is a USA composer, improvisor, guitarist and banjoist. He is also known as the inventor of the electric rake. This musical instrument (though some would hesitate to call it "musical") is made by attaching a microphone or an electric guitar pickup to an ordinary lawn rake.
