Multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), also known as multiple organ failure (MOF), total organ failure (TOF) or multisystem organ failure (MSOF), is altered organ function in an acutely ill patient requiring medical intervention to achieve homeostasis.

Organ dysfunction is a condition where an organ does not perform its expected function. Organ failure is organ dysfunction to such a degree that normal homeostasis cannot be maintained without external clinical intervention. It is not a diagnosis. It can be classified by the cause, but when the cause is not known, it can also be classified by whether the onset is chronic or acute.

Total Organ Failure is a Tier 4 symptom. It increases severity by 20%, and lethality by 25%. This is the only symptom which does not increase cure requirement. Even wealthy countries will go down if enough people are infected.

Essentials is the second compilation album by the alternative rock band Failure. It was released in 2006 on CD Baby. Following the release of Golden (2004), both key members, Ken Andrews and Greg Edwards got back together to create a double disc album highlighting Failure's best moments, while including several rarities and the complete demos for Magnified (1994). The album also includes individual song critiques by Ken and Greg (only for the first disc). Tracks 1-3 are from the debut album Comfort.
