King of the Beach is the third studio album by the American band Wavves. Pitchfork Media placed it at number 50 on its list "The Top 50 Albums of 2010". The record features a wavy sound, heavily influenced by the sounds of surf-wave, punk and early 2000s indie rock acts such as The Strokes. King of the Beach is primarily describing the easiness and carefree atmosphere of spending time with friends, but also is layered by dark and self deprecating lyricism.
