Honey's Dead is the fourth studio album by the Scottish alternative rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain, released in 1992 on Blanco y Negro Records. The title refers to one of the band's early hits, "Just Like Honey", and is intended to demonstrate a complete departure from their earlier musical style. The album's first single, "Reverence", attracted some controversy for the lyrics "I want to die just like Jesus Christ", and "I want to die just like JFK"

Honey's Dead (CD, Album, RP, Tan). Def American Recordings. Another great album from JAMC. This is all clear when you play the album, the first track fulfils all this. Great album, great music, all the above influences + the unmistakeably unique sound of JAMC. Reply See 1 reply Notify me 2 Helpful.
Honey’s Dead (1992): Conventional wisdom wrongly calls this the return to form, mostly because they got a drummer and wrote some lively tunes. The problem is that the well-recorded feedback and effortful Jagger yowling here sound like two guys straining to be cool, the exact thing that Psychocandy evaded. How convenient that William was dating Hope Sandoval, of popular acoustic drawlers Mazzy Star: Her duet with Jim on "Sometimes Always" really is a standout. And these five discs offer those five records, each remastered, and each with a DVD face on the flipside containing all relevant music videos and a hi-res album version. There is only one warning that must go with them: Do not try this at home. Since the turn of the millennium, a staggering number of rock bands have put a staggering amount of effort into seeming like they don’t care.

After sidestepping a bit with the all-too appropriately titled Automatic, brothers Jim and William Reid revisited the Darklands and returned to form on Honey’s Dead, their first album of the new decade and best since the Jesus & Mary Chain’s classic debut, Psychocandy. On the surface, there wouldn’t appear to be that many differences between Honey and its predecessors-the mix of their first album’s noise and second album’s melody, production by Alan Moulder, whose stamp could be found on virtually any band with a distortion pedal at the time.
Automatic (The Jesus and Mary Chain album). Automatic is the third album by Scottish alternative rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain.
