Album · 1992 · 19 Songs. In 1991, George Harrison went out on tour with old cohort Eric Clapton for a series of rare, live appearances in Japan. The best moments are gathered in this 19-song collection that gives equal weight to both his Beatles successes and his solo material up until the Cloud Nine era. Hearing such material like "Piggies" and "If I Needed Someone" in a live setting must have been monumental for fans, who respond appropriately. These tracks, alongside rare airings of "Taxman," "My Sweet Lord," and "Isn't It a Pity," make for a striking overview.
New Eric Clapton Album to Feature George Harrison's Vocals and Guitar. 2/19/2016 by Chris Payne. Eric Clapton has announced a new studio album for this spring, and it will include contributions from and old friend. The new set I Still Do drops May 20 and features acoustic guitar and vocals on the track I Will Be There from a musician named Angelo Mysterioso. This just happens to be a pseudonym used decades ago by none other than George Harrison. The late Beatles guitarist first used the moniker when co-writing the song "Badge for the 1969 Cream album Goodbye.
George Harrison returned to the stage for the first time in years in 1991; that Japanese tour is documented on the fine double-disc set Live in Japan. Backed by a stellar supporting band led by Eric Clapton, Harrison turns in surprisingly strong versions of his best solo material; it easily surpasses Paul McCartney's double-disc Tripping the Live Fantastic or Paul Is Live. Not bad for a guy who doesn't like to give concerts. Track Listing - Disc 1.
