The aptly named 'Walk The Night EP' is a funk fueled four tracker that really shows off the LDA boys talents - from the most intricate drum programming, to those all important signature lead solos we know and love. So whether it be the more Electronic feel of 'You Got The Look', 'Wayfarer' or 'Shadow Crawler' or the straight-up traditional . of 'Need Somebody To Funk' all of the above compositions prove that these Berklee graduates are certainly ones to watch in 2011 . .

Long Distance Calling is a post-rock band from Münster, Germany, formed in 2006. The majority of their tracks are extended instrumentals. Long Distance Calling collaborated with guest vocalists including Peter Dolving from The Haunted ("Built Without Hands" from Satellite Bay), John Bush from Armored Saint (ex-Anthrax) ("Middleville" from Long Distance Calling) and Jonas Renkse from Swedish metal band Katatonia ("The Nearing Grave" from Avoid The Light).

Night" was originally released in 1979. Long Distance" was originally released in 1980. Track 20 "If You Remember Me" is a hidden track.

Germany's Long Distance Calling approaches post-rock from a prog metal perspective, which in itself is little heard of. Avoid the Light, their second album, offers six mid-length pieces (between seven and twelve minutes). Five of them are instrumentals based on repetitive rhythms, crunchy riffs, textural guitars, and a certain ominous/melancholic mood. The bits of found dialogue in "Apparitions" sound like nothing more than a curtail to post-rock's obligatory cliché, but it's a minor offense in an otherwise strong track.
