Minutemen – "Bean-Spill" E. P. Label: Thermidor – T8. Format: Vinyl, 7", 45 RPM, EP. Country: U. I just love the way it looks and feels. The Petibone drawings are weird, yet the package is Grey and simple. The songs are ballsy; Split Red showed up on a later release(s) why do men start fires? The walking bass lines are so raw and explosive on this version. I bought several copies back in the day and would give these out as gifts and presents.

Bean-Spill came about in part when SST Records partner Joe Carducci was getting concerned about the amount of songs Minutemen were giving away to various cassette and vinyl compilations at the time. As Minutemen were already writing songs at a prolific pace, Carducci, who at the time was running his own label, Thermidor Records, invited the band to release an EP on the label. By the time the EP was released, the Minutemen had already recorded their second full-length album, What Makes a Man Start Fires?.
