The Hits Collection is a compilation album by Kim Wilde. The album was released on March 6, 2006. Originally the album was intended to be a repackaged version of the 1996 compilation Best of Kim Wilde. When the album was announced, the webmaster of Wilde's fansite contacted EMI and asked if it would be a better idea to release a new compilation of Wilde's EMI "first" years 1981-1983 instead

The success of Kim Wilde came sudden and stayed. After 11 years she has sold millions of records and earned the reputation of the most successful British female singer. And now there's a compilation of all the hits. When Kim entered the charts with 'Kids in America' in 1981 she was in the company of names like Adam and the Ants, Ultravox, The Stray Cats, Shaky and many others. A lot of so-called experts said she would have a very short career, a lot like the man who kept her off the no. 1 spot: Joe Dolce ('Shaddupa Your Face'). But mistakes have been made.

The Very Best of Kim Wilde is a compilation album by British singer Kim Wilde. It was released in November 2001 and contained 15 Top 20 hits from the UK and German charts and was virtually identical to her 1993 hits collection. Also included was a new song, "Loved", which was released as a single in a number of countries - her first in six years, reaching the Top 10 in Belgium and Top 20 in Finland

Kim Wilde (born Kim Smith; 18 November 1960) is an English pop singer, author, DJ and television presenter who burst onto the music scene in 1981 with her debut single "Kids in America", which reached number two in the UK. In 1983, she received the Brit Award for Best British Female. In 1986, she had a UK number two hit with her version of the Supremes' song "You Keep Me Hangin' On", which also went on to be a major US hit, topping the charts there in 1987. In 1988, the album was reissued again on a CD format with a different cover art and was retitled 12 Greatest Hits. In 2003, the album was digitally remastered and was reissued under MCA records again with the original 1967 cover art. Bob Ludwig digitally remastered the album in 2003, making the album sound smoother in sound than it originally did before.

This is a strange "best of" Compilation, as it misses many essential tracks. You Keep Me Hangin' On - Missing; Cambodia - Missing; You Came - Missing. And I honestly doubt that someone would consider an instrumental like "Cambodia - Reprise" a hit. "The Singles Collection 1981-1993" would be a much better starting point to get into the music of Kim Wilde.
