The Waterboys (album). 1983 studio album by The Waterboys. An extended live version of "Savage Earth Heart", a song which had eventually become a "live show stopper" was re-released as a B-side on the single for "Is She Conscious?" from A Rock in the Weary Land. All songs written by Mike Scott, unless otherwise noted.

John Lennon influences seem to surface frequently, both vocally and compositionally, most notably on "Is She Conscious. And, as virtually all Mike Scott projects (both solo and group) will reveal, much of the content revolves around the struggle, confusion, and inspiration that his growing faith elicits.

The Charlatan's Lament" – 6:52. BMG also issued and almost immediately recalled two singles each (separately packaged) for "A Rock in the Weary Land" and "We Are Jonah". These are considered collector's items by some Waterboys fans and command high resale prices.
