The Beaux Arts Trio is a group well-respected for their musical excellence, as is amply demonstrated in the performances here. The piano playing is a natural extension of the other moving parts of the quartet. They do an awesome job of interpreting Brahms, almost as well as they did in interpreting Mozart's piano quartets. All said, this purchase demonstrates excellent performances, and I highly recommend this album. Piano Trio N. in A, O. osth. December 2013, 15:47. 1 g-moll op. 25 - 4. Rondo alla Zingarese. The Horn Trio in E♭ major, Op. 40, by Johannes Brahms is a chamber piece in four movements written for natural horn, violin, and piano. Composed in 1865, the work commemorates the death of Brahms's mother, Christiane, earlier that year. However, it draws on a theme which Brahms had composed twelve years previously but did not publish at the time. The work was first performed in Zurich on November 28, 1865, and was published a year later in November 1866.
