Both missers Solti and Ashkenazy collaborated much during these years, this 3 Cd set dates from 1973, and the orchestra and it's Music Direcrtor were an unbeatable combination of virtuosity and success. The Chicago Symphony under the baton of Sir George Solti provide a wonderful backdrop to the meticulous pianism of Vladimir Ashkenazy. The pianist recorded these concertos three times, but this compilation is the most profound.
