The Chicago Chamber Musicians conclude their Signature Series season with a program that features every ensemble artist with works by Wagner, Brahms and John Stevens. Wagner's intimate and emotional symphonic poem, Siegfried Idyll, was originally written for the composer's wife's birthday. John Stevens' rich anc cyclical work for brass quintet depicts the seasons musically in four movements

Chicago's music scene has been well known for its blues music for many years. Chicago Blues" uses a variety of instruments in a way which heavily influenced early rock and roll music, including instruments like electrically amplified guitar, drums, piano, bass guitar and sometimes the saxophone or harmonica, which are generally used in Delta blues, which originated in Mississippi. Chicago blues and boogie music continues to be popular today with the annual Chicago Blues Festival, and with appreciation of many musicians such as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Willie Dixon; guitar players such as Tampa Red, Buddy Guy, Bo Diddley, Elmore James and Lefty Dizz; and "harp" (blues slang for harmonica) players such as Big Walter Horton, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson.

Additional guest performers include global music superstar Ariana Grande, multi-platinum recording artists Pentatonix, the current Broadway company of "Wicked" and more to be announced, all to honor the show's lasting cultural impact and the 15th anniversary of its unforgettable Broadway debut.

The Chicago Chamber Musicians give top artists – from Chicago and beyond – the opportunity to explore chamber repertoire together. WFMT’s Dennis Moore hosts the series which offers the full spectrum of chamber music with brass, strings, piano, vocalists, percussionists, woodwinds – in whatever combination the composer dreams for solo or small-group music-making. CCME First Monday Concerts are live, coming to WFMT from Preston Bradley Hall at the Chicago Cultural on the first Monday of every month.
