Neurotica is the fourth record and second LP from the band Redd Kross. It was released on Big Time Records (an RCA Records subsidiary) in 1987. Observed to be a blend of various genres including garage rock, power pop, punk rock, art rock and pop rock, the album was influential in starting the grunge movement. Neurotica has the distinction of being the first rock group to sign to the WWF's own music label, Smackdown! Records. Being backed by one of the corporate giants in the business climate of the early 21st century is certainly a positive, yet Neurotica doesn't follow through with an outstanding musical approach. This is not to say that Neurotica is a terrible band; much of this album is easy to digest and fits in comfortably with the mainstream, yet nothing surprises the listener either. Other noteworthy cuts include "All My Friends Crush You" and "Living in Dog Years. For the most part, though, Neurotica has delivered an album that is easily forgotten.

They nearly succeed with the album opener "Ride of Your Life" but then lose sight of their musical vision, relying on tricks that elevated many in the late '80s and early '90s.

Neurotica was a heavy metal band, started around 1995 by singer Kelly Schaefer (formerly of progressive death metal band Atheist) and guitarist Shawn Bowen. Performances in local clubs brought the band to the attention of AC/DC singer and Sarasota resident Brian Johnson, who helped them find a management deal and produced their debut album, Seed.

Neurotica exuded a Janus quality found in the best pop music: it looked forward and equally embraced the past. Love Is You", the album's sole acoustic number, is as much a tribute to a girl as to love songs themselves; its tongue-in-cheek falsetto delivery sounds alternately comic and passionate.
