Tangerine Dream - Logos Live album flac

Logos Live is the fourth live album and eighteenth overall by Tangerine Dream and was released in December 1982. It is a live album from the concert at the Dominion Theatre in London, England. Much like Tangram with short movements connected by atmospheric segues, Logos captured a period of Tangerine Dream's evolution from experimental to melodic, documented also by their soundtrack to the motion picture Risky Business a year later.

My favourite live Tangerine Dream album, recorded in the 1980s in London. Very well structured and extremely listenable, featuring the band at their best during the Virgin years. Much like the live albums that came before and after it (Encore and Poland), Logos has become a firm favourite of Tangerine Dream fans: particularly those who like the group's improvised, solo-based nature. That said, Logos is probably the most 'songy' sounding live record of the group's classic period, with the 40 minute piece being made of several very distinct sections.

Tangerine Dream suffers from a slight case of growing pains on Logos: Live at the Dominion, having recently turned off their lava lamps and opened up their programmers' manuals. Chris Franke, recently-joined Johannes Schmoelling, and the ever-present frontman Edgar Froese seem to be leaning on their new equipment more than usual, making this concert sequentially denser than previous ones.

This applies to Tangerine Dream as well as to many other artists from that era, especially on Krautrock. The way I see it, though, is that saying this is a "destruction" is going too far, especially if you keep in mind that Edgar Froese was very fond of reinventing and messing with his creations. I'm not a fan of it, but I think that's a common trait among artists, that creations are seldom "finished".
