La Vie, l’Amour, la Mort is a film directed by Claude Lelouch in 1968 (released in France in 1969). François Toledo, a married businessman and father, falls head-over-heels in love with Janine, a work colleague. However, after three dates, he feels dishonoured when he suffers from impotence. Une vie d'amour" (A life of love) is a song written by Charles Aznavour to the music of Georges Garvarentz. The Russian lyrics of the song were written by Natalia Konchalovsky. The original version, sung by Aznavour in French, was introduced in the 1981 movie Teheran 43 (USSR). In March the same year it was by released by French Barclay Records in three separate albums - Teheran 43, Autobiographie and Une vie d'amour single with Mireille Mathieu.

He was later judged and condemned to death sentence but he escaped and hided in many catholic congragations. To make this record, Paul Touvier used his wife's name (Paul Berthet) and sympathised with famous french singer Jacques Brel in 1959, who discovered only many years later who he was. Jacques Brel helped him later in having this lp distributed by Philips in 1967. His death sentence was abndonned the same year. This lp had a good acclaim in the french press when it came out, nobody knowing that Paul Berthet was in fact Paul Touvier. Paul Touvier was finally emprisonnend and sentenced to life reclusion in 1994. He died in 1996.
