Private Eyes is the tenth studio album by American pop music duo Hall & Oates. The album was released on September 1, 1981, by RCA Records. The album includes two hits-the title track, "Private Eyes" and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)", as well as the top ten hit "Did It in a Minute". I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" also spent a week at the top of the R&B charts-a rare accomplishment for a white band.

Producer – Daryl Hall & John Oates. Saxophone – Charlie De Chant. The title track definitely is the biggest hit on here, with some very catchy lyrics and good vocals from Hall. Other notable tracks here are I Can't Go for That, Did it in a Minute, Head Above Water, and Looking for a good sign.

Private Eyes - Remastered. We finally find out why this album was named "Private Eyes" instead of "Head Above Water"). The bonus tracks are extended versions of "Your Imagination" and "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)", but I would recommend getting the "12-Inch Collection" Volumes I and II which also have these remixes as well as many others by Hall & Oates. The cover for the Private Eyes album features shadowy portraits of Hall & Oates. Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy is such a fan of the white soul duo that he had the artwork tattooed on the back of his hands. One day I was looking at the Private Eyes cover and I was like, 'That's really f--ing awesome," said McCoy of the thinking behind the pieces. The duo adopted a new approach to songwriting for the Private Eyes album It reached on the Canadian RPM Singles chart.

Hall & Oates don't repeat the formula of Voices; they expand it, staying grounded in pop-soul but opening up the stylized production, so it sounds both cinematic and sharp.
