The Aesop's Fables are a series of animated short subjects, created by American cartoonist Paul Terry. Although Terry later claimed he had never heard of Aesop, he felt that Estabrook's idea was something worthwhile.

Aesop's Fables contain a narrative that seeks to illustrate a hidden message. The most famous fabulist would be Aesop who most date around 620 . Many fables are attributed to Aesop, but it’s unclear how many he actually wrote; indeed, his historical existence as a person is under question. I’ve collected many of them here for your enjoyment. A number of translations were found and the fables collected. Several different translations and interpretations of the same fable may be found on many of the pages here; including, now and again, a simplified version I wrote. The collection here is being added to as new sources are uncovered. But, if you are in a hurry and want.

Our online collection of Aesop's Fables includes a total of 655+ Fables, indexed in table format, with morals listed. There are many more on the way. Most were translated into English by Rev. George Fyler Townsend (1814-1900) and Ambrose Bierce (1842-1914) the rest are from Jean De La Fontaine in French and translated to English by several good internet souls.

Aesop's Fables: The Smothers Brothers Way was the seventh comedy album by the Smothers Brothers (released March 15, 1965 on Mercury Records). It reached number 57 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart. Seven of Aesop's more famous stories and morals are related in this album (or what are intended to be his fables but are often overshadowed by the bickering of the two brothers). The songs were written by John McCarthy. Overture-Aesop's Fables Our Way" (2:03). The Greedy Dog" (2:20). A Fox (Maybe I'd Better Stay Me)" (0:24)-Running gag throughout the record where Tom wishes he could be something else but then something happens to quickly convince him that maybe he had better stay himself.

40 of Aesop's best-known fables are brought to life in adaptations for children aged 5 to 9. Each story is five minutes long and read by an all-star cast including Brenda Blethyn, the late Richard Briers, Lindsay Duncan, Richard E Grant, Jane Horrocks, Jonathan Pryce and Alison Steadman.

Aesop was a slave in ancient Greece. He was a keen observer of both animals and people. Most of the characters in his stories are animals, some of which take on human characteristic and are personified in ways of speech and emotions. However, the majority of his character retain their animalistic qualities; tortoise are slow, hares are quick, tigers eat bird, etc. Aesop uses these qualities and natural tendencies of animals to focus on human traits and wisdom. Each fable has an accompanying moral to be learned from the tale
