I Dreamed a Dream is the debut studio album by Scottish singer Susan Boyle. It was released on 23 November 2009 by Syco Music in the United Kingdom, and by Columbia Records in the United States one day later. The album has sold almost 14 million copies worldwide.

Famously penned "The Thinking Man’s Poster Artist" by punk- rock singer Henry Rollins while working on his album cover for A Rollins in the Wry, amongst other Rollins' album covers and gig poster commissions. Raised in a musical family, she started singing on stage at the age of four. While studying Kinesiology at the University of MN she joined a band on violin and vocals and soon started braving the stage alone as a guitar-clad Singer/Songwriter. After graduating, she moved her music east to Washington .

The album is based on the book ‘The Pilgrim’s Progress from This World to That Which Is to Come; Delivered under the Similitude of a Dream’ written by John Bunyan. The story, described as set in a dream, follows a lead character named Christian, who is tormented by spiritual anguish and told he must leave the City of Destruction to find salvation in the Celestial City. There is much more to the story, of course, and the part of the story portrayed in this album represents just a small portion of the book.
