Bad Company is the debut studio album by the English hard rock supergroup Bad Company. The album was recorded at Headley Grange with Ronnie Lane's Mobile Studio in November 1973, and it was the first album released on Led Zeppelin's Swan Song Records label. The album reached the top of the US Billboard 200. Since then, the album has been certified five times platinum by the RIAA, and became the 46th best selling album of the 1970s

Bad Company are a 1970s British hard rock, blues-rock group fronted by Paul The Voice Rodgers. Their name came from a ‘70s Western movie and they were formed by former members of Mott the Hoople, Free, and King Crimson. Paul Rodgers discussed work on a possible Bad Company studio project in February 2019. Rodgers hasn't appeared on a Bad Company studio effort since 1982’s Rough Diamonds. He was initially replaced by Brian Howe; Robert Hart sang on their most recent LP, 1996's Stories Told & Untold. Rodgers rejoined Bad Company two years later, and the group became a consistent touring presence. Three new concert recordings have followed, capped by 2011's Live at Wembley. Up next for Bad Company are shows with ZZ Top and Cheap Trick in May; they'll perform alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd later in the summer.

VH1 filmed Behind the Music TV Special.

Formed in 1973, Bad Company came to life when Rodgers was looking to start anew after the disintegration of his legendary band Free. His powerhouse vocals and songwriting were a main ingredient during Free’s impressive five-year run; a period of time that saw the release of seven extremely influential albums that featured Free’s minimalist blues-rock approach. Included among Free’s dynamic body of work is the 1970 smash, All Right Now, one of the most recognizable rock anthems ever recorded. Lyrics and melody by Rodgers. He was Free’s main songwriter. The duo recruited former King Crimson bassist/vocalist Boz Burrell, added drummer Simon Kirke and Rodgers Christened the band Bad Company. Rodgers’ brought in Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant and Bad Company became the first band signed to Zeppelin’s Swan Song label.
