Hi How Are You?/ Continued Story are two previously seperate tapes placed on one disc. Though he was in his early twenties at the time of their recording, his voice is child-like and pure, that of someone who seems isolated and fearful. Tracks 1-14 are from Continued Story, and 15-29 are from Hi, How Are You. In a very confusing and quite literally schizophrenic "unfinished" album, Daniel Johnston bends the barrier of what I define to be music. Many of the vocals are random, pointless ramblings, and are sung in a high pitched and vulnerable sounding voice. The melodies are made with pianos, guitars, electronic production, saxophones, and so many other instruments. I honestly can't tell if this is an intentionally avant-garde LP, or the mess made in the studio stemmed from Johnston's.
