Ron Carter's Friends features a number of other musicians on each track. The musicians include Lewis Nash and Carol Buck from the Ron Carter Nonet- indeed, the music here is similar to that played by the nonet. Friends also includes Hubert Laws on flute, adding a unique sound to the proceedings.
