Audio CD (October 25, 1990). Both were quicker and leaner than these remakes, but I find the first Ormandy fourth too quick,especially the first movement. The newer version does more justice to the lyrical, more contemplative aspects of the concerto. And since Serkin possessed inner tension/energy at any tempo, quick could sound too quick.
